My time in theatre performance and creative arts began with the Armenian Theatre Co through a government scheme called community programme. There I worked and collaborated with artists and many people of varied life experiences and realities within the London Brent community. Through people and connections I made there I went on to Rose Bruford to study community theatre arts. The teaching there was heavily influenced by Paolo Friere, Augusto Boal, Etienne de Croux, Cicely Berry and SCYPT (standing conference of young people’s theatre).
I became a performer, actor, singer, workshop leader, simulated patient practitioner and community events organiser. I toured and played in many venues focussed on issue centred, ensemble, political and immersive theatre.
I highly value the ideals behind creativity and love to work in a strongly collaborative atmosphere. I continue to be a committed believer in inclusivity – which was amplified further after experiencing life changing injuries in 2018.
I’m dedicating this experience to my cheeky, brilliant and amazing daughter Georgia and her friends – the future dwellers and stewards of this planet.I'm an associate artist at Phakama - read more here
