In October 2017 we are in residency at CSM sharing some of our previous project World Factory and exploring a new performance project that is in development for the Barbican Centre in September 2018, WE KNOW NOT WHAT WE MAY BE. The recipient of the Artsadmin 2018 Green Commission, the installation will explore expert ideas for an alternative economic future. The aim is to bring together many perspectives to imagine a systemic restructuring of the economy to facilitate dealing with climate change (and environmental degradation), that also engages with social justice.
What would the best alternative economic structure be to deal with climate change? What would it feel like to live in such a world? Drawing on the work of economists and geographers from Paul Mason to Ha-Joon Chang, and Donella Meadows to Donna Haraway, these workshops explore the relationship between systems, decision-making and our perceptions of what is possible. We will co-construct the detail of an alternative economic system, and imagine what it might be like to live in it.
This residency contributed to the development of WE KNOW NOT WHAT WE MAY BE.
