Supported by the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes, METIS Associate Director Lucy Wray took the train to Cologne to participate in a follow-up weekend for MA and PhD students who had attended future academy seminars in Cambridge in September 2018.
Playing the game from our consumer capitalism project World Factory introduced the way that METIS uses interactive theatre to enable collaboration. These techniques and ideas then led on to imaginative scenario-thinking for alternative economic and social futures in the Factory of the Future, aiming to make the scale of the problem manageable without reducing its complexity.
Over the course of the workshop we brought together ideas from different perspectives, discussed our common values and modelled a new normal for the city of Cologne.
