Reedocate Me @ the Floating University, Berlin
Metis has been working with audience-participants of reEDOcate me! to create a 'global remix' of stories of alternative possibilities at the Floating University, Berlin.
We are working with an array of artists from Berlin, Belgium and Japan, each contributing a performance or workshop to create reEDOcate me!, an event that takes its cue from the Edo period in Japan. When faced with extreme restriction, due to being isolated from the outside world, the Japanese approached scarcity with huge ingenuity, leading to the world famous Japanese cultural aesthetic, from sushi to architecture. In the context of the climate crisis now, how might limitation produce creative solutions, and change our relationships with one another and the world around us? See here for further details of our work and of the other artists taking part.
