Where many of the productions I’ve worked on have found the comedy in the construction of tragedy, this production sought the tragedy in comedy.
This version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream drew on the cruelty of the characters to one another to create a nightmarish vision of thwarted love – on several tonnes of mud.
